Default Upgraded Wheels or Vision Assistance?

Good evening,

I am looking at 2 per-owned Lux models with just under 7,000 miles. 1 has the 20 inch black wheels that I like but no Vision assistance while the other does but just has base wheels.

I am leaning towards the one with the VAP and just buying other wheels later. Is the VAP worth it?

Just looking for any and all opinions.

Thanks

I have a 2010 with Vision Assist and when it works it is good. They had real issues with this technology when it first came out. My vehicle has been in the shop almost 7 times just to deal with wiring harness, optics, camera and signal strength issues. While it is a cool feature and great for getting parked safely into tight places, you won't use it much once you know the dimensions of the vehicle.

Same here in the vision system. They had lots of problems out of the gate, but ours was finally fixed. It is a cool feature, but unless you are going off-road, not a ton of use. That being said if the one that has it is a lux plus package and the other just a lux, get the lux plus because there are other things included with that package.

Weezy--we've got the VAP in our 14 LR4 and outside of toying around with it, haven't used it much outside of the rear back up camera. That being said, if you're looking at the Black Design Package rims, they're very sharp. We decided against them as we live in a city and didn't want to risk 'curb rash' on the polished rims. An alternative could be to go with the VAP and look into plasti-dipping the rims. It's pretty durable and fairly simple.

My wife's X5 has something similar to Vision Assistance and it is fantastic. Wish my LR4 had it.
