I made a foolish mistake by purchasing one of those Chinese AMK compressors to replace the Hitachi in my lr4. I had a shop update the software, and while everything "works" it is very noisy. You can feel the vibration into the driver seat and the compressor stays on longer than it should. I need to purchase an OEM AMK. Does anyone know where to find an OEM, not at dealership pricing?

 

Be careful buying AMK compressors, as there are two styles out there. The "old" style, which was still failure prone and the "new" style which requires an update to the lines (cut and splice w/ install kit).
As for being very noisy, it is also possible they did not install it properly. It should be suspended on rubber/spring mounts to isolate the noise. It could be grounding out transmitting noises.

Also if they did not fit the cover properly or if they used your old Hitachi cover that could be the noise issue, but those Chinese AMKs suck. It will fail soon anyways, usually a fault with the main electrical connector at the compressor.
