Default Wiper blades

In the need for some replacement wipers. Do you guys use OEM or is there an auto parts "brand" that works well?

900 Series - Ultimate | Valeo Wipers Systems USA

These are the best, cost is around 40.00 ea. Don't waste your money on the OE ones

Hey, Mike. 3 follow-up questions for you: (I hope that's ok, since you opened the door by addressing the question for an LR4...)

Do you also recommend Valeo wiper blades for the LR2, Discovery, and Range Rover? If yes, will the 900 Series Ultimate flat blades fit them, too?

Or, do you recommend a different Series in Valeo blades for those vehicles?

My specific LR vehicles are:
1997 Discovery SE7
2008 Range Rover
2010 LR2 HSE

Thanks. I prefer to change wiper blades myself, but I heed a warning from a good mechanic to always lower the metal arm carefully, so that it doesn't swing back quickly against the windshield and crack the glass .

There would be no DIY cost savings if I break my own windshield!

I have the 22" valeos' on my 99 p38.
On my 04 D2 I have factory ones, I also install the factory blades on the L322's
The Disco2 and Range have that silly fastening system that limits your choice of blades.
I honestly haven't looked for the valeos to fit the Disco or Range. If you find the valeos
to fit and they mount well to the arm. post back with your review.

Cheers

Thx, Mike. In the past, I've only used factory blades b/c I wasn't sure of fit. The LR2 and Range are easy to change. On the LR2, I pinch the locking tab to release the blade; on the Range, I slide the Lock tab to unlock position. But, the vehicle manual states to only fit replacement wiper blades that are "identical" to the original specification. I can order the Valeos next time, and see if they snap into place correctly. If not, I'll return them.

I'm not due for blades now, but when I try them, I'll post which ones do/don't fit in each vehicle section.

For the 1997 Dscvry, I'll prolly leave well enough alone, and just stick with factory blades. I don't want to confuse that vehicle any more than is necessary. Haha.

There are a lot of brands indeed. From my experience of years using different types of windshield wipers, I think Bosch, Michelin, Valeo and Rain-X are the best wiper blades. They are more durable and can fight against harsh weather conditions.

Default Wipers

I use Bosh ICON for the front and Bosh AVANTAGE for the one in the back.
Icons look nice, work good, are not bulky and are cheap online.
Advantage works best for the rear window.

Bosch Icon. I went with 26" driver side and 24" passenger side. Bosch rear wiper. AquaPel on all the glazing. No complaints.
