Default Badlands vs. Superwinch

I'm looking at a Badlands 9000 and a Super-winch LP8500. I won't be doing much hardcore winching but I don't want the day to come where im stuck without one. Any pro's and con's of the brands?

Badlands... that's the HF winch, right? The plus with that is that you can buy a 3 year no questions warranty.

superwinch is a name brand with a good reputation, but their lower end winches aren't anything fancy.

Another winch in the same power range would be the Ramsey REP8000 or 8.5.

And warn's M8000. It can be had for less than $500 if you find it on sale.

there are quite a few people use those Badland winches, other than not being the fastest winch I haven't heard anything bad. you can get the 12000lbs for less than 399 when its on sale.

I like the Superwinch LP8500 but I've never heard anything bad about the HF Badlands 9000. I could get both for around $275-$300 which is a pretty good deal isn't it?

I have the superwinch x6 model since 2007 , works great , and solenoids are available at summit racing for mines.

But more importantly , make sure your bumper and winch is re enforced and bolted on properly , to accommodate the strain ....

Dusty has beat on his HF winch and it hasnt quit, it got us out of superlift and only got hot once. Truly amazing on how much it went through that day.

If you dont mind used, look at craigslist. i scored a power wagon warn winch for 400

Don't overlook a good quality winch for less money on craigslist.
I have 3 Warn 8274's, two Koenig PTO, a Ramsey RE1000 and a Ramsey Platinum 9000. The only one I bought new was one of the 8274's, in 1975.
All the rest I paid $250 or less for.
