Default bumper building

We are gonna be building a front bumper and try to keep it simple and light so gonna build box gussets for frame and weld a winch mount across top

Thinking tube bumper, what size tube is common?
Is welded tube OK or do I need dom tubing?

If I do one of those pre runner hoops what is the angle?

I also want to integrate a skid plate

I'll try to remember to measure my tube for you when I get home.

Instead of making boxes in 1/4 plate to fit over the frame horns is there a box tube the right size to fit?

I would think either 6 or 8 inch tube would be about the right height. Is that what you are looking for? I'm not sure what the angle for the pre-runner bar would be. I like the idea of a skid plate underneath, though.

I figured the tube is 2" dia. Does the tube with weld seam and dom tube bent the same?

I think a stinger hoop is set a 30* rake...........

I have been kicking around a simalar idea...
2" double tube spaced just enough to place a receiver hitch in the center.......then use receiver mounted winch that can be moved front to back if needed.
30* stinger in 1.5" with with tubes running down and back toward steering with a skid plate on them...........supported from the outer edge of bumper to frame horns by 1.5" tubes.

Welded black pipe should bend just fine........ I was thinkin schedule 10 pipe..

Idea based off of factory brush bar...........modified into proper bumper.........

Run the main bar out of 2x.25 wall DOM, use 3/8" for the winch plate and 3/16" for the rest. Make sure you have two bolts through the frame horizontally and one vertically to keep it from rocking. I loved my tube bumper but it just didn't measure up to the Rovertym as far as brut strength, practical protection, and recovery points.
