Default cooling system mod questions

Ive been seeing higher water temps this summer and im looking for some help with a few mods. Im sure my ambiant temp sensor is not working and when the ac is on im hitting close to 220. The 11 inch condensor fan is working but not cutting it. Ive read that it is a pusher fan with about 800 cfm. Im looking at a flex a lite pusher at 14inch pushing almost 1600 cfm. My measurements can just fit a 14 inch fan with minor mods.

Ive also been looking at the flex a lite manual puller fan on the engine side that elimanates the fan clutch.

And i will be ordering a flex a lite oil cooler with fan very soon.

After installing my front bumper rear bumper and winch the temps did change with the new weight. Also the front bumper had me remove the front air scoop that is inderneath but i reinstalled that this weekend and did drop about 5 degrees. My fan clutch is brand new oem but on the freeway the temps rise makeing me figure the clutch might not be cutting it.

Any advice would be great. Im only looking at flex a lite right now because thats what ive knowen to be quality.

If your temperatures are running high you don't need to modify the system you need to repair it. Something isn't working either your radiator is clogged or your thermostat is the wrong one or your coolant has air in it. Something is wrong if its not working. Before you go spending the money on fans and more fans, maybe spend some time and money on making sure the actual cooling system is up to snuff. Also we don't know what vehicle you have. do you have at Discovery 1 Discovery 2?

They probably don't know either or your supposed to guess what vehicle, or it's irrelevant.

Fans give way at under 40mph, if you expect ANY fan to be work'n while motoring on down the freeway your smokin somebody's lawn clippings (or in the case of Shifty's home town - lawn gravel).

I second the opin on getting the current setup fixed cuz it's brokedid.

I also know the Flex-a-lite's, they become ballistic shrapnel when nicked, not the be all, end all to the cooling world.

Your ambient temp sensor has nothing to do with your cooling system or condenser fan.
Your fan clutch only pulls in air at idle to 40 mph.
Your condenser fan should always be on when your A/C is on.
At operating temp, feel your top hose(above the thermostat), then feel the lower hose below.
If the top hose is hot and hard as a brick, and your lower hose is cool and spongy, replace your thermostat. If you have not already done so, replace the thermostat with the 180* thermostat(do not go aftermarket, get genuine).
Do not expect your oil cooler to bring down your coolant temps. Although, I highly recommend an oil cooler for these engines. You can use the supply and return ports that are on your front cover for your oil cooler or get a sandwich adapter. I personally went with the OEM cooler and lines(that came standard on the older Discoverys, and were dropped on the 03-04 models) It is an easy bolt on, and can be found on Ebay.
Like the previous guys said, find out what is going on with your cooling system, before removing the fan clutch and all.

Inline setup with 180 degree super stat with a 3/16 hole drilled in it. New fan with hayden severe duty clutch. You could pull another disco up hill all day. Sounds like a helicopter when it gets hot, but hey, it's doing its job.

No problem. Post enough data that someone can offer suggestions. Like maybe vehicle information, how long since last cooling system maintenance, mileage, etc.
