As a retires Rover service manager I have to tell you, K&N's might be OK in other vehicles but not on any with a new style Bosch air filter,"PERIOD".
If people decide to us a $50 K&N with their Rovers, then when they do loose their $260 plus MAF, I would suggest they not come back here crying about it.
This is a problem that has been around since 1999 and is posted on every Rover forum and believe me, when it comes to Rovers it is a problem.

I did preface my comment with stating my experience was Subaru based. I don't have near enough Rover-specific experience to counter your statement. Every time a person changes something on their car they take a certain risk... 100% OE is the only way to avoid that variable, really. That said, I respect your experience and postion and certainly see the K&N as a user-beware item.

Is it best to just stick with the OEM filters and change when needed or millage reached mike? I am sure glad that i decided to join the forums and do some reading before i spent the money and could have hurt my rover!!
