Hello all I am new here and this is a newbie question but I purchased a 2003 disco II in July last year and I have yet to put my license plate on it. I have bought a bunch of different sizes and types of fasteners and screws and I just found out M6 6mm is the right size but I’m still having trouble getting it on. I bought an off brand adjustable license plate bracket but it still isn’t going.

another odd problem I’m having is the holes in the license plate don’t line up with what looks like someone’s custom screw holes around where the bracket would go.

 

Bought this bracket. It's nice but I needed to use the original screws to mount it. The star key screws for the license plate are nice.
