Default Limb guard, tree trimmer, windshield wires.

As some of you may know, I recently moved to Virginia where we have trees. We bought a house on 5+ wooded acres and after doing a little trail making of my own in my 01 disco 2, I got fed up with limbs hitting my windshield. I searched around and saw these wires running from peoples fenders to their roofs so when they were in the woods and a low hanging branch was in their way, the wire would catch the branch and instead of amacking the windshield, it'd just glide up the wire and over the rover.

I figured I'd try to make a shopping list first and then go get everything at ACE or Home Depot. Youll need the following:
Two turnbuckles
4 eyelets (two 2" and two 4.5"
8 nuts (thread matching the eyelets)
8 washers
4 double wire clamps
2 locking double U rings.
2 cables long enough to run from the roof rack to the 3/4 extended turnbuckle.
Drill into the stock roof racks and thread in the eyelets crimp the line into a loop, position the second smaller eyelet on the fender, or brush guard, drill hole, and drink a cold beer, your nearly halfway done!
Pull the 5-10mm bolts out of the top of the fender gently pull out the fender enough to thread the washer and bolt into the hole. Replace the bolts, (be sure to line it up with hood so you dont get massive line gaps) use a double locking U ring to connect the turnbuckle, loop the other end of the cable through the other end if the turnbuckle, and clamp it. Tighten the turnbuckle so its tight but not over tight. Do the same thing on the other side and badabing-your finished. All in all it'll run you under $40.

Fun little project, great way to keep branches off your windshield.
