Default LR4 High Output Alternator

Hey guys, I wanted so me feedback about alternators. I have a 2016 Land Rover LR4 V6. My timing chain gasket leaked oil on my alternator and now it needs to be replaced. I was thinking about stepping up to a 250 amp alternator because my A/C doesn't seem to get cold unless my car is moving. Not sure if this will help the situation or not. Also, I'm not sure if a higher output alternator will cause more heat to be produced? These cars already have been known to have overheating issues. Will this alternator help my car become more efficient or will this cause more trouble? Appreciate any thoughts or feedback. Thanks! - Also, here's the site with the high output alternators - https://js-alternators.com/products/...put-alternator

Did you end up buying one these alternators?

I have the same AC doesn't want to kick in until moving issue. I think it may be caused by low voltage at startup and the aux fan doesn't want to kick on until the rpms get higher. Maybe because the alternator isn't keeping up. That's my theory at least.

Actually, no I did not get the high output alternator. I was doing some reading and it sounds like the only time someone should buy one is if they have more things that require power such as big stereo systems or a winch for example. One person said (even though it was one person, it was enough to get me thinking) the charging systems of the LR's are so finicky that changing the output could mess things up. the other reason was that a higher output alternator would put out more heat. These things already have overheating issues and the fact that I live in Vegas makes my situation that much more iffy. My hunch is still on the side of a higher output alternator may fix our A/C start up troubles. Let me know if you end up giving it a shot! Thanks for chiming in!

Those are good points. I also don't like that you have to use a non-standard belt with that alternator because the pulley is smaller. If it turns out I need one, I'm going with the standard Denso. I'll come back to this thread if I end up doing that.

So, you're in Vegas (very hot) and I'm in Phoenix (also very hot). I wonder if this AC issue is related to extreme heat in some way. I notice at night, the AC comes right on, but in the heat of the day, I get that delay. Hmmm.
