Default Milling out DII 18" rims to fit Discovery 3?

Anyone actually do or see the central hub milling done to fit a DII rim onto an LR3?

I'd read some posts where folks said all that's needed to make them fit, since the lug pattern is identical and the only difference is DII has a slightly smaller central lug, is having a local machinist mill out the center hub - can anyone confirm that? Are there other modifications or wild ripple effects on this plan?

I can get it done at a local machinist shop on a lathe that is familiar with doing this kind of job, for $350-400. I paid $200 for for a set of almost new KO2 ATs mounted to the powder coated DII rims in question - so even if it was $400 we're talking an all-in of $600 for new tires and set of rims. Not bad. That'd be a pretty low cost of entry for independent tire/wheel setups for WINTER vs SUMMER tires.

Am I missing more to this equation or is that center milling job the only piece of the puzzle to make DII 18inch rims work on an LR3???
