Default need a new manifold and distributor

I have a 96 disco with the gems motor. Its all but buggies out now completely tubed. I just about had it done and was planning on taking it out that day when I had a small fire and the dash doors and all the wires under the dash melted.
I would like to run propane because it would clean up the wiring mess and eliminate the mess and frustration of trying to figure out what I need to make it run.
I have heard that there is an intake manifold and distributor from another vehicle that just literally bolts right on. You can find it in the junk yard. I just can't seem to find what one bolts up.
Do any of you have an idea or thoughts on what one to get or where.
Has any one done this swap?

I doubt a 96 is worth the expense needed to do a conversion and repair your melt down.

Actually Mike, with the amount of Fab work that has gone into it, if I was her I would rebuild it as well.

I replied on your thread on LRO with the info you needed.

One thought would be looking at old conversions of the Rover V-8 from carb to fuel injection. Ought to be able to go backwards, and re-jet the carb for LP. Lots of standby generators had carb modded for LP. Can you do it? Probably. Is money better spent on another project? Or take the RAVE electrical diagrams and make your own harness? Your call.

Do you have the other bits you need, like front cover, to install a distributor in a '96?
I believe it's an Edelbrock intake you want. Or one from a carbed Rover V8.
