My daughter just got her drivers license and I've decided it's time to recondition the old disco (04) my ex left me a while back. That car has been sitting at the end of my lot under the texas sun for years...
Amongst other things, I'm adding an OME suspension lift (nothing heavy just making it look good). The guy at Roversnorth suggested the "standard" kit (that's front springs 2776 and rear 2781). After install I got a nice lift in rear (21" wheel center to fender) but barely anything in the front (19" 3/8). I figured spring 2776 is just a replacement oem spec spring so I asked for and installed 2777 instead (typically found in the "medium" duty ome kit), however I'm still not getting anything near the 1 1/2" advertised lift (now at 19" 5/8, see pic). I'm not seeing similar complaints on forums so I'm at a loss for why this happening? Most discussions I see are more about finding the right spring for load bearing rather than lift height.
Also if this outcome is normal, what is the best way to get more lift on the front as I do not like the dragster look (and will like it even less after I put new 255/70/18 tires). I read the OME spring 2761 made for disco1 also fits a disco2 and will give me an extra inch? Or should I just add spring spacers to my 2777s? Which of these option is better for ride quality?
