I know that plastic is used a lot of places like cutting boards, bathroom stalls are similar plastic, you might find some scraps asking around, IMO the lower the tire is mounted the less vibration /more stable, nice bumper, I welded a steel pin in mine to limit the swing open for it to rest against

 

Good call Tom. I found some spare square poly/plastic shim bushings in my tool spares. They are for height adjustments on a pneumatic floor nailer....should be perfect.
