Towing cars with the D2 + Offroading.. Suspension advice

Depends on where you towing it too.... How far your towing it? Also depends what type of trailer your using to tow it? If its a double axle that would be ideal. That way more weight is pushed down on the trailer axles and not your rear discovery axle.

If I were doing that, I would outfis the towed vehicle with a tow hook and just pull it behind the disco.

Before coming to the US I use to tow a tri axle Ivor Williams with my 300 Tdi usually loaded with various cars and I have had 110 and a classic rangy on it as well. The D1 struggled with standard springs on the rear at it "sat" down so made steering livleyto say the least. As this was a manual and a diesel then braking was done mainly on the engine breaking and on the trailer brakes as the D1 was NOT up to the task. I have seen a number of D1 wrote off due to trailer accidents with the tail wagging the dog as the springs were to soft.
