Default wtb chequer plate to bling up d2

I am interested in the black chequer/checker plate for bottom of my d2. i like the look plus it will cover up an accidental built in (from a tree branch) hole that is being used as a bottle opener. recently, saw it for d1. I like the look and it is all over uk ebay. so I am thinking it is probably produced for d2, as well. maybe? but I can't find any pre cut kits, outside of bonnet panels. anyone know of a place the sells such a thing? d1, defenders, series= easy to find, d2= not so easy. will d1 fit?
thanks for any direction on the matter.

okay, still googling. not much luck, all that I found is 4x8 sheet material (could be a fun project, but not very convenient.) does any know if d1 would work on d2 with some tweaking? has anyone ever come across any type of panel protector kits for d2?
thanks

Okay.... My plan is to go gangsta, and cut and apply, myself.
So nobody wants to save my ride? Just asking if you've seen such a monster. At 10 am I am going ghetto and ordering 4x8 stock.

Thanks

Interesting idea. I like the look of the diamond plates on the Defenders too. If you get the stuff for the D1 and it doesn't fit, can you return it? I'd like to see what you come up with.

I am still researching the possibilities of the di stuff, but the problem with returning is that I can only find UK sources.....shipping cost.

I have been looking for an excuse to buy a plasma cutter, though
and I found a local source for the 4x8 material, but they were currently out of stock, on the particular pattern I wanted...Of course

If you go the DIY route I would probably use a cutting wheel or metal saw blade instead of a plasma cutter. A plasma cutter is a handy tool to have, but can be hard to cut straight for long cuts and leave some awful slag.
Aluminum slag + bench grinder = No good

I'm no metal working expert though, just have a little experience here and there.
Just my $0.02

It's funny you bring this up. I'm in the UK right now and have been looking into taking some chequer plate back with me.
