Default 19-a

After 2+ days I got my D-5 back...
While there I tried to do the software update, magically it wouldn't update. Dealer says the server is down...which I think was BS, as it hasn't updated since either.
On top of that the rear doors will not open from the inside no matter how many times the unlock button is pressed. Unless I am missing a setting somewhere? I looked but couldn't find anything that might cause this.

Not heard of the LR system being down, perhaps it is the dealer's system.

Not the same, but I updated the Nav system this weekend. Guess something at LR works.

Yes, I was able to download the map update a couple of weeks ago. Load onto a zip drive then on to the D-5

Currently downloading Version Number: 08.030.0098.0153. Pretty slow, certainly not due to my internet speed:

Yeah that is normal regardless of connection speed. This is just a map and POI update, it does nothing to the InControl system. I haven't tried sending it to a virtual USB drive to test if that is the speed limiting factor or if it is on Here's network side.

The Nav downloads are probably throttled to prevent network overload on their end, given the multiple GB per map update. This doesn't or shouldn't affect the systems for dealers to download for SW updates for the InControl, IP and other ECUs on the vehicles.

All that said I haven't seen any reports of JLR systems being down for multiple days, which still makes we wonder if it was just a dealer issue that the OP had to deal with.

So to install 19A we go to the dealer or I can do it all on my own PC now using a USB?

19A can only be installed by the dealer

Once 19A is installed it is unknown as to what updates can occur over the air. I have heard that there is a 19D in the wild, but I have not seen confirmation. But I can confirm since 19A on my vehicle (2017) no over the air updates have been available.

Map updates are done via the USB drive (Points of Interest & Streets) and have always been done as such.
