Default 19inch Rims for 2021 HSE V6 with 21”

Hi, looking to fit 19” rims to let me fit 255/65/19 AT tyres to my 2021 HSE V6 Discovery currently has 275/45/21 tyres. Tried Discovery 4, 19” rims the offset is fine but there is not enough interior rim diameter to clear the brake callipers. I was wondering if the new Defender 19” rims would fit. In Australia information is hard to find and dealers have no information. Any information on which 19” rims that would fit would be great.

The base model 19" Discovery 5 wheels will fit and work fine.
The tire selection is much more limited than with 20", but there are still some decent options now and the sidewall is height is better. I run the 255/65-19 Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure tires (~32.5") that are and option for the Defender.

Hi Julian,
thanks for the reply, but the OEM 19” rims I bought bind on the calipers. The dealer seems to think the V6 HSE with the 21” rims has larger rotors and bigger calipers preventing the use of the 19” rims.

Yes the bigger wheeled discos have bigger calipers too. I think you'll struggle to get a 19inch wheel over yours. Maybe a 20?
What's the objective?

Hi, objective is to achieve higher sidewalls to allow for All Terrain tyres for off roading and extensive travelling on dirt roads through central Australia towing a caravan. The vehicle is placarded for 19” rims but haven’t been able to find a rim that will fit over calipers.

My 2020 SE base model has the same big 6-piston brakes as the HSE model and I am definitely running the 19" wheels that came on it stock. The 19" wheels you tried are from a Disco-4 which used the small brakes just like on the base-model 2017-2019 Disco-5. There is only one part number for the front rotors and calipers for the 2021 model, so no difference between the S/SE and HSE. You can use the Disco-5 base model 19" wheels like the ones shown in the low-quality picture of mine here:

255/65-19 Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure tires (~32.5"). Good all-around tires. No fitment issues. Contact patch is better than you'd think for a 255 tire - about 1" wider than the factory 255/55-19 Pirelli tires. I couldn't make the full size spare fit since it's a significantly larger diameter.
They are actually an Off-road Tire option for the Defender.
