Exclamation Is the 2.0 Engine worth sticking with? for a 10k Roadtrip around Europe?

Hey Fellas,

I ask as recently purchased a Disco 5, 2018 (twin turbo 2.0 engine) with 65k miles.
Just forked out £1800 for LR big service to bring it up to speed and split bushes repaired.

then.... on a drive to the Ferry - ENGINE OIL CRITICALLY LOW - Lost Power and Died on the Motorway.
found out - OIL Level OK - but Turbo gone and told "engine chains stretched" -
- quoted by a Landrover Engine specialist (they have 40+ LRs there) £4500 for tubo and chains.

MY CONCERN, is if the engine was starved of oil would it have done additional damage to the Engine.
OR, did another sensor in the Turbo trip it if the Turbo didn't get the oil?

but the BIG question is now (considering repairs authorised) - once these repairs done - am I risking it driving around Europe for 8-10k miles with this 2.0L engine?
(seems everywhere I look for advice am hearing that this engine is just a problem child, waiting to breakdown again).

thoughts oh wise ones?

oh. 1 week prior to this trip - Sytner LR had said they found a light engine oil leak - inspected - replaced 'timing plug' and topped up oil.
1 week later - Breakdown.

related?

really appreciate the help and advice fellas,
