I was just commenting on the prior discussion, that the D5 brake lights were on the body lenses and not the larger tailgate lenses.
Some federal law about that.
But the Q5 has it on the opening tailgate.

In the Uk there are Hi Line and Low Line lights, on the Hi Line version the part on the boot is also used for indicators, on low line its not.

Just saw a recent model BMW X3 with lenses on both the body and tailgate (like the D5). Both body mounted and tailgate mounted lenses illuminated when brakes were applied.

i wish the d5 did this... i also wished out previous vehicle did as well. (Lincoln MKT)
