I know there is a separate area on the forums for the 2020 Defender... but I am curious how many of you D5 owners are considering it? It is hard to tell with the limited details to date, but I am thinking about it. I know some of the "enthusiasts" have mixed feelings, but I am all for evolution. I have been a huge fan of the original Defender and have toyed with purchasing one. But if the new one merges the creature comforts of the D5, modern reliability, and more rugged styling, why not?

 

I don't understand the concept of using an old name on a brand new vehicle.

It will be just another SUV and everything that made the Defender what it was and the icon that it became will have been lost.

But if you have a spare $60~70,000 bucks to throw around then go right ahead.

 

Unless they pull a rabbit out of a hat I agree it shouldn’t be the Defender name. No more than the new Discovery should be called Discovery.
