Default 2nd Row Seat Rattle

I’m chasing a 2nd row rear seat rattle. When there is weight on the seat or when the seat is folded the rattle disappears. Anyone figured out what this might be?

I’ve found posts about it being the seat belt buckle. Can confirm it is not that.

If you hold the metal bar under the seat (that lifts to let you slide it forward) does that stop the rattle? And is it a loud metal rattle?

I've unfortunately had that on mine from nearly new. The diagnosed it as one of the metal catches in the seat mechanism and replaced it but no luck. Then it was the seat frame loose and tightened it up. Still didn't go away. I had them look the following year again at service and they said the seat frame was bent as it had been over tightened. So they replaced the entire seat frame (they covered it as it was clear they caused the issue). However unfortunately that still hasn't fixed it. It drives me crazy but I don't know what else to do. I've found the same - if someone sits right on it the rattle stops

So - I know the issue but sadly can't help...

Mine is a 2018 HSE with all electric 7 seats.

The 2nd row seat buckles clunk/knock against the plastic trim. Sure it's not that? Probably goes away when people are sitting because they're buckled.

mine is exactly the same car as yours. I’ll keep you posted if I get to the bottom of this!

positive. I buckled the seat belts without any passengers sitting on the seats and drove around. Was able to replicate the issue

Mine is different. No rattle when the seat is up. But when folded flat the there is a rattle in the headrest mechanism.

Update: moving the rear seats forward a few clicks gets rid of the rattle.

I have a 2020 HSE (electric 7 seats) with the EXACT same issue, and it is driving me crazy. When the vehicle was under warranty a rattle appeared at some point. They diagnosed it as a broken weld on the seat frame for the middle row driver side seat. They replaced the frame under warranty and the rattle went away. It came back again at some point in the last year or so. Took it back in and basically was told that its a "known issue" and there is "nothing that they can do about it, since its a defect in the seat design, and a "tolerance issue", so even swapping the seat frame again wouldn't solve the issue (according to the dealership). I gave them heck about that response, and they tried to resolve it, even saying they used "epoxy somewhere" but they couldn't really describe what they actually tried to do to fix the issue (they still took $300 for the diagnostic fee of course).

The rattle remains, and they even advised just to move the seat up a position, which I refuse to accept is a solution. Last time I drove with the seat up towards the driver one position, it was still making noise constantly.

Would love to find out if anyone has actually fixed this issue and if so, how, as I"m going to just see if I can fix this myself somehow.
