Default Is 4wd system like a CRV or like an Audi A4?

Im interested in the Discovery but would like to know if this is the kind of system where the rear wheels are only engaged via a clutch such as a Haldex and effectively a front-wheel drive vehicle or is it one with a center diff or transfer case that has 1 input and 2 outputs connecting to the front and rear diffs respectively.

And it isn't like any Audi. It will walk over terrain that any Audi will struggle with.
