Airing Down Tires
Just wanted you to consider whether it was correct. When I recently looked for a spare set of wheels for my winter tires I found new wheels from Discount Tire that had the right offset and bolt pattern but some of them had inadequate weight rating. Also, I'm. not sure if it's just the weight of the vehicle or the combined weight rating including towing. And an X5 would not be subjet to the forces caused by off-roading that a D5 is built to handle.
You would be surprised. My x3 28d went all over moab no issues. 1.2" lift and 265/60r18 Otani SA2000 all terrain tires. Fairly soft compound but it really gripped the rocks. Since the x3 2.0l diesel has 289torque from factory. The Xdrive may not be as robust but it didn't really seem to have any issues. It's also a significantly lighter chassis at 4k not 5k+
My D5 isn't nearly as nimble on very soft sand. However the low range and full lockers certainly gives me more confidence in the d5. I was always extra picky with my line in the x3. And with less than 100kg peak load difference between the stock d5 and the bmw wheels 🤷 if I'm dumb enough to hit something that hard I'm probably not driving away no matter which wheel...

I looked up the apecs for my Discovery wheels and they were quite different and incompatible with the X5 I tried to compare it to. Could you please tell us the exact X5 model and year and wheel specs that you found compatible? I would think BMW wheels are a lot easier to find than Discovery wheels.
