I wonder if adding a spacer would alleviate some of the rubbing that's been mentioned for the 33's?

I doubt it. The rubbing seems to be from the front of the wheel well where the “venting” sticks in a bit. I don’t think you could space it out enough to clear the inner portion of the tire from still touching.

Do you still have instructions posted on how to install them? Curious if the vehicle needs to be off all 4 wheels during installation. I read somewhere that if installed one wheel at a time, that confuses the suspension settings?

No problem jacking only one wheel at a time. Spray a shot of lubricant on each end and they will pop right off and on. I did use a forked prybar - it was a golf divot repair tool. It will take longer to jack and remove the wheel than swap the rod. You could probably crawl under without removing the wheel but I’d want a jack to make sure no suspension movements while underneath.

You have to be careful for 2 things: Rubbing of the inner fender due to the increased diameter (which hasn't really been a problem with 32 inch tires), and rubbing of the knuckle to the inside of the tire.
Do I understand correctly that 275/55-20 would be an option requiring no mods like arch cutting or ride level adjustments? And then on the OEM 20" rim, 8.5/20 ET47?

You are correct.

I just installed 275/55-20 Hankook AT tires and they fit great. No rubbing, no issues.

I have 275/55 20 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT tires with no rubbing at all, even in factory access mode. I put 2 inch lift rods on when I go off-road (takes about 5 minutes to swap out all of them). I have heard 275/60 20s do cause some rubbing.

Thanks to all of you, who shared their experience or gave advice here. I fitted today a set of BFG A/T KO2 275/55R20 on my MY21 D300 SE R-Dynamic!

Looks GREAT! Can't go wrong with the KO2's... Get that thing dirty now.
