Biggest Tire with the 19" OEM Wheels
Greetings All,
Looking to set up a second set of wheels, OEM D5 19" wheels with a more aggressive snow/offroad set of tires. I have a 2018 HSE with the 21" 5 Split Spoke Style 5025 with Satin Dark Grey Finish.
I will keep both sets, because in 3 years if I decide to turn the lease in then I will need the original equipment.
I also feel like these Pirelli Scorpion Verde Tires are loud. Brand new from the dealer, driving him I noticed it...
Before I buy a set of the 19" wheels, wanted to see if anyone has built it up yet and maybe has some pics.
On my LR3 I had 18" wheels with Cooper Zeons and loved them.
I have looked though the threads and didn't see anything.
Thanks

I own a wheel and tire / auto repair shop and I HIGHLY SUGGEST you go with a 20" for your other set. The tire options will be there and if say you add Johnson Rods or something like I did you'll have more options. With the 20" and stock height I'd go with a 265/50-20 and a couple A/Ts are available in that size. In 19" I can check some for you if you like but I doubt many are available.
lemme know if you need me to look further into the 19"

I plan on having 18" Compo wheels available soon for the new Discovery 5.
With the Johnson Rod lift kit you can run 275-55-20
or with the new 18's 275-65-18 for more sidewall
Check our website for updates on the wheels:

shown below is the 1.5 inch Johnson Rod lift and 275-55-20 mud tires at dealership

Hey Bud,
I found some 20” RRS wheels on Craigslist and put BFG KO2 275/55/20 on them as my second set. No lift and it works just fine. I also leased so keeping the original set on hand when I turn this one in. Picked up wheels and tpms for $950 which I think is a steal as the 20” LR wheels retail at $1600 and $900 for tpms. KO2s look awesome on the D5 as well and much better for off-roading/snow!

Adam, the current Compos will not work. They are developing a new 18" wheel just for the D5. I have to check on production but the last estimate was August.

Discovery 5 18 inch wheel
The new Discovery 5 wheel by Compomotive will be out in Mid August.
The price will be the same as the LR4 18 inch wheel shown on our website
Combine this with a Johnson Rod D5 1.5 inch lift kit and 275-65-18 off road tires.
Check our website for more info: Discovery 5 lift Kit
Here is a picture of it being tested.

Thanks everyone for the input, sorry for the super late reply... Good advice. Love your wheels Earthsurf, very cool, that is how all the Disco V's should come from the dealer. Much better stance, more rubber..
Took ours out for a light gravel road action in the mountains and when we got home the 21" wheels have multiple dings and scuffs, I was super careful and still there was no way around it.
This is exactly why those wheels and tires and terrible for off road action.
So I'll be either looking for a 20" RR Sport wheel set or if the 18" Compomotives come out, that is an option as well.

How did you handle the overall larger diameter on speedo? Did you reprogram?
Did the tpms just learn to your car?
