Default Biggest tires that can fit on 20" wheels w/o Johnson Rods

If I do not install Johnson Rods on this vehicle... what is the biggest tire I can fit on the OEM 20" wheel? Thinking to move from 255/55/20 to 275/50/20 or 285/50/20. Anyone have issues with rubbing or wheelwell clearance at these sizes without the lift kit?

Somewhat related topic. For anyone running 275/55/20, have you been able to run lower pressure. The Tire Comparator guide seems to suggest that you can(see attached pic.)

. How have you found this to affect ride quality and handling? I would assume thee ride would be nicer off-road, but what about on-road?

I have 275/55r20 bfg ATs on a spare set of rims with zero rubbing issues. I was planning on 275/60r20s but I wasn't positive that they would fit without trimming or trying to reshape the inner fender wells with a heat gun. Plus I was going to have to order that size. 275/55r20 is easily available everywhere. Pics are in my Landmark thread in this disco 5 section of the forum
