Default Brake pedal goes to floor after rear pad change

All lines have been bled up at Brake Check. I replaced the pads on the rear and brought it up here to have the lines bled since it’s a two person job. They’ve dumped tons of fluid through it and bled every line. Still squishy pedal with no leaks. No indicators on the dash either. Is there some place that pockets air that needs to be bled? I had a caliper stripped out (not from me) so didn’t drive it for the week. It was real low on fluid at one point. We’re at a loss right now trying to figure it out. He thought maybe a master cylinder but not sure as it’d be a massive coincidence it broke the same time we did a pad change. Does the computer have to recalibrate or be reset? Is the pedal really pushing on something or is it computer controlled with artificial feel?

As far as I knew the brake system is brake by wire so just sensor based?

How could it be brake by wire with brake lines from master cylinder to ABS to each wheel caliper?
So you mean that an electrical glitch which is so unlikely in a Landrover renders the brakes inoperable? I think I’ll pass.

I was told the brake pedal isn’t connected to the master cylinder. Instead a sensor tells the computer how hard you’ve pressed the pedal and the computer controls the master cylinder instead. A bit like how there is no throttle cable any more between the gas pedal and the throttle body, just a pedal sensor to computer to stepper motor (or whatever).
Apparently that’s how they can do the autonomous braking and stuff without your foot being on the brake, unlike say ABS.
At least that is what I was told when I complained about the pedal feel and grabby (when coming to a stop) brakes. I will admit I haven’t actually looked though.

Could be. I’ll try to look it up. But that’s scary to have my brakes depending upon electronics which don’t always work.
