A/C Issue
The A/C in our 2017 with 75,000 miles seems to be needing a recharge (passenger side is blowing hot air, while the driver side is blowing colder but not as cold as it should be). Compressor seems to be working normal and no HVAC module codes. Now if it needs a charge that means there is probably a leak somewhere. So questions for those out there that have dealt with A/C issues:
- If you had a leak, where was it? My guess is the most common one would be Evaporator but curious as to what people's actual experience has been
- Somewhere I read that JLR charges with refrigerant that is visible on UV light (which would make the finding a leak process much easier without a recharge and adding dye). Anyone knows if this is true or just wishful thinking?
- If it happens to be the Evaporator has anyone here attempted to DIY? I know like in most modern cars it is a PITA as it means removing the dash, which implies taking a lot of other stuff out (why on earth manufacturers do this is beyond me as it is a part that tends to fail regularly - probably a good source of profit for dealers).
Thanks!
