Default Control Arm Bushings

Anyone have to replace worn out lower control arm bushings yet? When my independent inspected the discovery at 53k miles they said they were worn. Now it's at 77k and I think I hear clunking over bumps at slow speed and it seems to wander more at highway speeds. I'd be interested in the R&R procedure if anyone has it

I had to do this on my LR3 five or more years ago. At the time, it was less expensive to order new control arms which included the bushings than it was to just order the bushings.
I doubt that the suspension on the D5 is the same control arm but maybe it is.
I did not do the repair myself so I can't tell you how involved it was. I don't recall if an alignment was required after the repair.
Those control arm bushings, and a transmission service were the only repairs I had to do to my LR3 in 130K miles (except fro routine maintenance, fluids, brake pads, battery).

I had same issues on the LR3 as well, that's just a known weak point. The D5 has a different configuration. I'm getting the feeling the D5 is also going to have premature control arm bushing failures.

I had same on the LR4. But I've not heard about control arm issues on the new discovery. And don't forget the LR3 / LR4 had a different setup and were much heavier vehicles. My LR4 ate tyres and brakes at an amazing rate. We have done 65,000 in the new Disco and still on original brakes and rotors.

Lower Control arms are nearly identical design to my E39 M5. They don't make 80k without being worn.

Interested as it might be the cause of the issue I'm hearing from front left.

I have the repair manual but I won’t be home for 2 weeks. So I can’t post it. You can buy an electronic version on ebay. At least I was able to a couple years ago.

Curious if anyone else has replaced front lower control arms or has seen worn control arm bushings? I'm about to order a pair of front lowers.

Received front forward and rear Lemforder control arms from Advanced Factors out of the UK. Fast shipping and slightly less cost than ordering domestic. I recommend. I'll be installing this weekend.
