Hey all, replacing a coolant temp sensor on a 2017 HSE TD6 with 104,000 miles and wondering if any coolant can go into this vehicle or if I need to use JLR spec coolant? Not under any type of warranty. Thanks in advance!

Land Rover recommends a 1:1 mixture of
Havoline XLC antifreeze and water.

We have the same build. I'm at 64k miles. Have you had any issues so far with the motor? I'm curious how long these motors are supposed to be good for. Trying to decide when I need to sell it.

No issues at all, but I’ve only owned it for 3 months and 10,000 miles. Only thing so far is the coolant temperature sensor has recently gone bad, but it’s a $13 part on rock auto and an easy swap. From my understanding it’s very rare for it to go bad. About to do a second oil change. Recently drove to/from Chicago and averaged 26-28 mpg. Absolutely love this truck and plan to keep it as long as I can.

@gmfain Been trying to track down that Havoline, but no luck locally. I'm able to get Pentosin Pentofrost SF concentrate from NAPA which I believe meets similar spec, but it's concentrate and pink, not orange. Does color really even matter if spec is there? Can I also use Prestone DexCool? I know that's pretty generic... Any idea on how much coolant the system holds? Thanks!

I think the Dex-Cool will be ok. It is my choice, I couldn't find the Havoline either.

Have used it in my previous LR4 without any issues, just want to be sure with this Disco. Will give it a shot! Thanks as always.
