I'm halfway through installing a new window regulator on the left rear door. My only question is must the clips that the glass rests on be locked in to the holes in the glass or will they lock in automatically when the regulator is activated? I'm inclined to try to get the clips locked in but it's a bit tricky. I've watched a couple videos and I don't see them working to get the clip locked in. comments appreciated from those who have actually done the install.

 

Looks like you lock them in, but a comment on this video says they are key holes and auto lock.
