Abran, I owe you a beer. Remote Start wouldn't start the truck, but it kicked the computer on to the LR logo and I was able to press the brake and start the truck. Driving it to the shop now

nice! I drink the expensive kind. Just send cash, I’ll buy it myself. Jk, glad it worked.

Also, credit where credit is due, it was my wife’s idea, she is good!.

Once yours is sorted, hit us up. Going to take ours to Hungry Valley to the 4x4 course there. Should be able to test ours out without scratching the paint.!

I bet now that it's started they'll say 'could not duplicate issue'

I’m please you got it to the dealers without using a truck.

The problem with a truck in this situation is how do you release the park brake to tow it on the truck. The emergency park brake release details aren’t in my car manual.

I suspect you could get away with moving it a small distance with the handbrake on but I’m not so sure about the park brake.

To be fair, it's only happened to me the one time and started normally every other time. I do like the service manager I've been working with, she's already swapping out key fobs and sensors since they saw this error.

They would tow it with a dolly under the wheels. They can do it, I was more worried about them towing it all over the place, dropping it in the yard, picking it back up in the morning and towing it around some more.

Got my Disco back. Two of the transmitters for the key-less entry / push-button start failed the diagnostics test and had to be replaced. Reading through all the notes, they weren't were they were supposed to be and they had to take out the headliner, part of the dash, and the C-pillar cover. The good news is that everything is working, the bad news is they cracked the plastic on the C-pillar and broke the handle in the 3rd-row/cargo area. All parts are on order, but coming from UK and 10 day wait. Other than that I've got my truck back and everything is working.

It's worth noting that the "Smart key no longer within vehicle" message came up a few times before the transmitter failed all-together and the car wouldn't start. If you see that message, get it in and they can do a diagnostics on the transmitters.
