I don't know, but I would check ebay and ask a dealer for the part numbers of the seals and stretch bolts. Since they are Bosch injectors, it'll probably end up being Bosch seals.

Just found them on RimmerBros:

Sealing Washer: https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-LR032818
Retaining Bolt: https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-LR032108

Pretty inexpensive repair. Can I use something like Seafoam Carb Cleaner or does it have to be something different given the build up? Haven't been able to get under the hood, but seems like this is all great preventative maintenance from what you've posted and I've seen on youtube. I greatly appreciate the reply!

Is that because the Td6 is a Ford-designed engine and, if so, are any current Fords using it?

2021 was the last year Ford offered the TD6 in the F150.

my 2019 discovery 5 has just started this diesel exhaust smell in the cabin... especially noticeable on cold start up. Vehicle currently has 60,000 miles on it. i don't know what it is or where it is coming from. i do know my last vehicle, a 2009 Touareg TDI had this problem 2 times about 50,000 miles apart and both times it was from a exhaust leak on the turbocharger. i hope that is not the case with the Land Rover. In my opinion there is no way this diesel smell in the cabin should be considered "normal".

Mine hasn't peaked its ugly head all summer, but now that temperatures are dipping into the 20's-30's-40's I've noticed the fumes in the cabin again. Seems to only be noticeable on mine upon initial startup when running the heat and then it is gone. I've hit the recirculation button and seems to cut down on the smell. I'm about to hit 110K, still absolutely love this truck.

@delly44 Any idea on how to check if there is an exhaust leak on the turbocharger?

@mtaylo32 I have not dug into this at all as i am on a long trip and will not look into it until i get home. i can tell you that on the VW Touareg the turbo would leak exhaust around where the variable vane shaft goes through the turbocharger housing. i might take the disco 5 to an exhaust specialist as i find LR dealers useless and there prices a complete rip-off.

Check the fuel filter drain tube. If it is attached, detach it put it away.

Default diesel exhaust smell in the cabin

further to my diesel exhaust smell in the cabin. with the hood open on cold start i can see a cloud of diesel exhaust rise from somewhere around the engine. the cloud clears and the smoke dissipates and the smell goes away. just back from a 10,000 km trip and the smell at start up is stronger but still seems to be limited to a cold start up. vehicle now has 101k kms on it, 62k miles. this exhaust smell at start up started approximately 3 months ago. once vehicle is moving or engine is up to operating temperature i do not notice a exhaust smell. closing the HVAC recirculation does not make a noticeable difference. going to do some more testing and visit a muffler shop. would go to the dealer but my dealer is terrible and based on some of the comments on forums it doesn't sound like dealers are very helpful with this situation.

2019 Disco 5 TD6.
