Default Electronic issues?

I bought my LR disco V a month ago and sometimes the screen wont turn on and im wondering if thats a problem for anybody else and what other electrical or tech related problems did Discovery 5 owners experience.

The inner tailgate sometimes doesn’t even try to close when I close the outer one, but immediately closes if I push its own button, go figure.

Everything else electronic I experienced was related in some way to bugs in the media system / screen and over 3 or 4 software updates seem to have all been fixed as far as I’ve experienced/noticed. But they were very annoying when they did happen and there was no way to quickly reboot the system, you had to leave the vehicle off for 30 mins before you could try again, not ideal when you just want to listen to music on your drive home from work or use the SatNav to get home from an unfamiliar part of town.

If you have the refreshed model with the new Pivi Pro system then is expect bugs until it matures over the next 2-3 years. I have the older system and I’d say 99% of the problems were resolved over by the time the 20 model year was at dealers.

I’d check to see if the software was up to date.
if you don’t have data in the car maybe connect it to your home wifi so it can go online and check for updates.

Yes. Check software first. Hot spot to your phone or home WiFi (settings - connectivity). Once connected go to settings, find the update tab and run check for updates. Can take a while. Maybe post here the build version it shows (something like S20C...

Second would check battery condition. Is it fully charged? What voltage do you show with engine off? Any other electrical gremlins?
Often simply a lower charged battery. They should give you 4-5 years of good life but can sometimes fail in 1 or 2. Particularly if discharged too deeply
