Default Extended Warranty Providers

Hello all!

I just purchased a CPO 2020 LR Discovery HSE TD6. I am loving my trips to the mountains (I live in WA).

When going through the purchase, the finance team offered an extended warranty beyond my CPO (which expires in one year). I usually decline them, but in the case of my first Land Rover, I would like to hedge my maximum repair costs. They said that Land Rover doesn't offer extended warranties and that they partner with Allstate to provide one. Knowing them to be a good company, I decided to negotiate and purchase it with the option of searching for other providers later (you can cancel and get a pro-rated refund).

It cost me $5100 + taxes to add 5 years, 100k miles, and a $100 deductible. I am now in the market to see if there are better options. Unless it's significantly different, I would stay with this, as they are my local dealer.

For people in the US, who are the other providers? Will it be cheaper?

Kartik, welcome aboard.
The price seems about average; I would recommend verifying if the coverage starts at the in-service date, OR the date of contract purchase.
Allstate, Zurich, Fidelity are the common ones I came across, but there are plenty of others.

For reference, I bought Fidelity 7yr/100K for $5700 out the door.
Do us a favor, post your coverage info on this thread, to help others

Thanks for posting this. I too bought a CPO 2020 HSE about 6 months ago and I will definitely purchase an extended warranty before the CPO period is up. Let me know what you end up going with

keep in mind, extended warranty pricing is done in yr/mileage tiers (15k -25k, 25k-35k and so on). you may want to compare what it would cost by the time the CPO period is up vs purchasing the contract earlier. some underwriters may be picky about factory warranty being active as well.
all the best

Do these extended warranties all cover the diesel-emissions junk that California has hobbled our TD6s with? The only significant maintenance items I've ever had on my 2018 TD6 at 63k miles have been with diesel emissions equipment and it's always been hard to convince LRNA to cover much of that under the emissions warranty. I won't be keeping the TD6 for much longer unless I can figure out some sort of insurance against future costs in this area.

Emissions aren't covered by Fidelity as far as I know.
