Default Fog Lights on Disco 5?

Building out our Disco 5 for an order this week, haven't seen one new/used Disco 5 on the market with fog lights.

Where are they located, in the bumper side cut outs? Are they worth the $100 (lol at counting pennies based on the total price of the car)

Do they go on automatically with headlights?

Are the white led to match the headlights?

They're located on the outer edges of the lower front facia. Rectangular and narrow.

They don't come on with headlights. Must turn on manually.

Yes, they're white LED.

Beam pattern is low and wide.

I'd say they're worth the $100.

Yeah they work ok. Had a chance to test mine out in the clouds (literally) and they did help. If you are building one out and they are only $100, get em. Especially if you get up into altitude or cross country, etc.

I have them on my 2022 HSE and used them when it was super foggy and I was out for a drive. They cast a really wide beam and of course you are able turn off the main headlights while using them. I can’t imagine leaving something like that off a new build to save less than $1000.

Get them! I bought my Disco off the Dealer Lot and they were not included... I ended up installing aftermarket lights because the cost to put in OEM after the build was ridiculous due to the need to put the switch on the indicator 'arm' and the lights are almost US$200.00 EACH.

Definitely get them they are worth the $100. In addition to what has been mentioned here, they also turn on when turning, during daily driving (when the headlights are on). Say you are driving at night (with the fog lights off) and are turning right, the right fog light will turn on to illuminate where you are turning into. Fairly standard function across several brands, but makes the fog lights even more useful.

That is a great feature, and nuts that Land Rover doesn't mention that. Their marketing overall is pretty bad.. They give you 6 glamour shots to look at, and almost no description on a lot of features. This is coming for a Land Rover fan boy who was still skeptical what the hell the car can do.

I know the newer BMWs have side illumination when turning a wheel, but if I recall it comes from the headlight (not turning headlights)

I have a 2018 HSE LUX in the USA and mine has fog lights but they do not illuminate when turning. I never even knew this was a thing. Does it get activated in settings somewhere? Or do I need a GAP tool? Funny enough, I was just wondering the other night why these fancy led headlights don't send light into the direction of the turn.

Not that I am aware of. Does seem like GAP can get it done (check this thread https://landroverforums.com/forum/ne...d-tool-117615/; no specific instructions but a couple folks have done it so you can ask there).

I was in a very low visibility situation, heavy fog, last week. The camera detected it, popped up the dash to tell, and turned on the fog lights itself, had an indicator on the dash to show that. 2019 HSE Lux.

Otherwise, when I turn the front/rear fog lights on manually, there is no indicator that lights up on the dash, but I can physically see they are on.
