Hi All,

Has anyone had the issue where the defrost doesn't keep up or really work? We have been fighting heavy moisture and fogging on the inside windows. The door windows are the worst, while the windshield isn't much better. Last night was our worst experience yet. Driving at night in about 16 to 20 degree weather, the inside window on the rear driver door ended up icing over.

We turn on Max defrost and that barely keeps up on the windshield. The door windows never really clear up.

it's a 2018 HSE LUX.

Maybe there is a service bulletin for this? I saw where 2018 Velars had a recall for something similar?

Any help would be appreciated.

We have just a lowly 19 SE Td, and it struggles, same symptoms. Do you have leaves blocking your air intakes?

 

I don't see anything blocking the air intakes

 

Recirculation should be turned off.
A/C should be on (should come on automatically with max defrost).
Maybe your A/C compressor isn't working?

 

- Recirculation is turned off (we never turn it on)
- A/C is on. We primarily use Auto and it comes one automatically. I tested it with Max defrost, and the light came on also.

We have only owned it about 7 months. In the summer it takes awhile for it to cool down the inside and in the winter, it takes a while to get start blowing warm air. Would the compressor cause those issues?

I don’t think the compessor would affect slow warming in winter but my D5 A/C might take a minute to cool down but it runs so well it’s the best A/C in any vehicle I have ever had. Very cold and efficient.
And my D5 heats very fast too. But it’s garaged.

 

We garage ours also. I'll have the compressor checked out.

Are you sure you don't have the leaky windshield and water getting in? That could cause the fogging issue

We have a 2018 HSE Lux and never had issues with fogging.

 

Crap we supposedly had our leaky window fixed.

 

we haven't seen any water or moisture around the pillars, floorboards, etc. but that doesn't mean it's not getting in. Is there any particular area where the leaky windshield shows water intrusion?

One more thing for them to check.
