Hello, I'm looking to buy a 2017 diesel Disco 5. How can I find out if it has air suspension from looking at the pictures? And do all air suspension disco 5s have the lowering and raising buttons behind the rear seats?

 

Well, if it has the buttons, it does 😂

if I recall, seven seat versions were only offered with air suspension. Can you email the seller?

 

It will have the up/down buttons on the console if it has air suspension also.

 

As far as I know the Lux is the only model with air susp.

 

Really depends on the options chosen. Other models add the air suspension when doing 7 seats, and some options it could be added.

 

I was under the impression that all US spec vehicles had it. Does anyone here on the forum have coils?

 

When I bought mine I was told by the dealer that all vehicles with 7 seats have it. So do vehicles with the 2nd level off-road pack that includes the locking rear diff.
That statement matches what I found when using the online build tool.

As for 5 seats, my dealer only special orders them as almost all customers want the 7. I didn’t want 7 but that’s how all the ones were on the lot that I saw.

 

I’m considering the 5 seats as well (thinking it must mean a little extra room in the rear, yes?). Can I ask what your reason was for going 5 instead of 7?

I simply have no need for 7 seats (it’s just me and the wife and occasionally her parents when they visit) so rather than pay for them I would have preferred the off-road 2 pack as I absolutely wanted air ride and (in my head) the locking rear diff.
I also have a refrigerator in the trunk and it would be nice to mount it on slides over lander rig style but I can’t do that with the seats in the trunk.
I also would have liked several LR or after alter cargo accessories that require the cargo rails, which again are not compatible with the 7 seat option.
There is additional storage in the floor where the folder third row of seats would go as well.

However all the in stock Discos were 7 seats, and in the interior color I wanted, with one of the 3 colors I liked and with no black wheels or roof, there was only the one which sadly didn’t have the locking rear diff and was my third choice color. So despite having several extras on it I didn’t want to pay for I took it with a discount and in the end didn’t pay much more life it than my ideal build so it wasn’t too bad. I couldn't custom order as I needed a vehicle right away.

Having the 7 seats is not a deal breaker, there's still loads of cargo room anyway, and I'm guessing it will help with resale value given Americans feel they need 7 seater SUvs for whatever reason (despite the fact I've yet to see a 7 seater SUV out on the road with the 3rd row occupied)
