Default Infotainment Screen Blank on Startup

Started last week when my wife drove it. Started the car and the infotainment screen was blank. Nothing she could figure out would fix it.

Today while I’m driving it, it does the same thing almost regularly on startup instead of once.

can press and hold the power button for 3 - 5 seconds and it’ll start up. Or that’s just timing.

Tried a reset for press and hold forever and didn’t ever get it to reboot.

Recently did an OTA software update brining it to the current version. The software was last updated in 2022 and never brought up to date until I did it. Either coincidence or cause , the software preceded the screen issue by about a week.

It’s a 2017 D5 HSE LUX with 109k on the clock.

Any ideas or suggestions? Anything worth resetting with the IID Tool?

A couple years ago I did an over the air update on my 2017 HSE. It hosed my display. Under warranty they repaired it after it was in the shop for a couple months and a few different attemps at repair, which made it undrivable at first then they replaced a module that was about $2K for the part. No way I will do any updates now.

That would have been good knowledge beforehand.

When there are 15+ different part numbers/versions for the right front wheel molding for a specific submodel of a vehicle, I am not inclined to change anything, let alone software.

One could say that just shows Land Rover is always making improvements. It could also show that they have a hard time getting things right.

No apologies needed. It’s no one’s fault I did not know about that. I’ve since seen the post and found it helpful retroactively.

Wondering if a soft reset via the IID tool would help?

I’d try everything and anything. Perhaps removing battery terminal for a while.

Have you ever figured it out? I have the same problem on mine recently. I changed the car battery but still have that problem.

Check your battery. I've had that and a few other oddities that all went away after the battery was replaced.
