Hello,

I have a 2022 Land Rover Discovery R-Dynamic S, and it did not originally come with an inner tailgate. I'm considering purchasing one off eBay, and I'm trying to figure out what additional components would be required to make it fully functional.

From what I understand, I will likely need a cargo control module as well as the switch button to raise and lower the inner tailgate. Has anyone here gone through this process before? If so, am I missing anything essential, or are there any other parts or considerations I should be aware of? Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

Here's what the 2017 shop manual mentions:

"The deployable luggage compartment floor is mounted at the end of the luggage compartment floor.
When the deployable luggage compartment floor is in raised position, the 300 mm high
carpeted panel acts as a retainer, ensuring that loose objects will not fall onto the
ground when the tailgate is opened. The deployable luggage compartment floor has an
optimized structure based on an aluminum extrusion.

When the deployable luggage compartment floor is deployed flat, the platform extends
the load floor for easier loading, and can also be used as a convenient seating area
during leisure activities. This system also allows customers to benefit from the large
sheltered area provided by a full-sized tailgate, offering improved protection against
the elements when seated or loading the vehicle.

The deployable luggage compartment floor is deployed and closed by an actuator
located left lower part of luggage compartment. Ball joints positioned at each end of
the actuator allow it to articulate between a fixed mount on the rear floor of the vehicle
and the moveable arm of the deployable luggage compartment floor. There are two
cable stays that support the deployable luggage compartment floor when it is in
deployed position.

The deployable luggage compartment floor system consists of the following parts:

• A deployable luggage compartment floor control module
• A deployable luggage compartment floor actuator
• A deployable luggage compartment floor switch."
