Installing Factory roof rails
I have a 2017 Discovery. I didn't get the roof rails on it and now I'm regretting that decision. The dealer quoted me $1200 to install them but I see I can buy them online for about $350. Has anyone tried installing themselves? I was able to find a lot of rail install YouTube videos for other Land Rover models and LR4s but nothing for the new Disco. Thanks!

You'll need to purchase new front and rear trim pieces for the roof rail screws. You could try to cut out the original yourself if you have a dremmel and save $150.
Once you have the new trim pieces you just pull the existing trim off gently and unscrew 6 torx screws. Transfer snap-in brackets to new trim and place new trim back on. The rails should screw in over the trim pieces.

I did this install myself and it’s very easy. Just make sure you have those Torx screw sockets available and a torque wrench.
