Default L462 Discovery 5 GAP Activations

I've had my GAP tool for a while now and I thought I'd document a few mods that I've made that others might be interested in. My D5 is 2018 HSE Lux TD6 Diesel without any driver assist features from the factory except for emergency braking. A lot of these settings are from my old notes and I'm putting them here for reference. If you change anything on yours, make detailed notes of your old settings so you can revert things to the last working state. I won't be responsible if something breaks on your truck, but these settings did work for me.

Remember start/stop state between drives:
MultiCAN-566 MHLastUserMode - Last user memory mode enabled
Auto High Beam
T5-194 Auto High Beam - Sensitivity Menu = Enabled
T5-194 Auto High Beam - System Status =AHB Fitted
IIDTool Menu -> Service/Test -> IPMA-Image Processing Module 'A' -> Allow Central Configuration Data Learning
AFS123 Adaptive dipped beam. This simply turns off the single long-throw LED out of the four low beam LEDs below ~30mph. My LED headlights are the MID variety. This may not work on others.
MultiCAN-674 AFS123 = AFS123 Enabled
Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist
EUCD-098 Lane Departure Warning = LDW Fitted with Enable Menu & TSR Fitted with Overspeed
MultiCAN-498 LaneKeepAssistLKA = LKA fitted
EUCD-026 Power Steering Type = Electric Power Steering without external angle/torque control , only for JLR
IIDTool Menu -> Service/Test -> IPMA-Image Processing Module 'A' -> Allow Central Configuration Data Learning
I also installed the Lane Keep Assist button module that replaces the trunk release and cluster brightness dial. The PN is FK72-11654-DC. The new module has a different connector, but both were present in the dash behind the module.
Park Assist. The most involved one so far. This is straight from the GAP Diagnostic FAQ, but is missing the last setting that made it work for me.
T5-042 Pdc = 10 Channel fitted ( Park Assist) (0x4)
EUCD-026 Power Steering Type = Electric Power Steering with external angle and torque control , only for JLR (may be required)
EUCD-059 Parking Assistance = PDC (360) – Parking (Parallel, Perpendicular, Exit)
EUCD-140 Pdcautoactivationmenu = With PDC Auto Activation menu
MultiCAN-469 PDCAutoActivation = Default OFF configurable
MultiCAN-602 PDC = 10 Channel fitted ( Park Assist)
MultiCAN-658 ParkAssistHMI = Low Line HMI
My D5 does not have the surround camera system. Low Line HMI works for me, but might be High Line Dynamic with surround camera.
After making these changes:
Menu–Service/Test -> PAM-Parking Aid -> Reset CCF Learn
Menu–Service/Test -> IPMA-Image Processing Module ‘A’ -> Allow Central Configuration Data Learning
Menu–Service/Test -> IMC-Infotainment Master Controller -> CCF Relearn
Menu–Service/Test -> Reset Vehicle (The park assist button didn't show up on my infotainment screen until after I did this.)

Could you use this tool to (in combination with adding of parts) add e.g. Adaptive Cruise control, CarPlay, front parking camera etc?

CarPlay and Android Auto - Ours already has CP/AA support when we bought it as CPO from the main dealer. As long as you have the InControl Touch Pro system it should be a software update at the dealer. If you already have the latest update it *should* be a simple matter to enable with the GAP tool, but I'm not sure how that would look. I can check my CCF to see if anything stands out.

Adaptive Cruise Control - I intend to do this one once I verify the wiring is present behind the bumper.

Surround Camera System - I'm currently building a BOM to see what this will look like. Most of the video cables are available as harness overlay repair parts and I've located most of them. The main video cables I can't source yet are the one from the front bumper connector and ends through the firewall under the dash and the cable that connects the camera control module output to the infotainment control module input. It's possible these are included in the default engine bay and body harness, but I won't know until I do some disassembly. The side mirrors will need to be replaced and the four cameras installed, a terrifying amount of the interior needs to come out to route the cables, and I will have to come up with a solution to hold the front camera in the front bumper hole. There's a different bumper part number which has the bracket permanently welded to the inside of the bumper skin and is not available as a separate part. Am I delusional in thinking I can pull this off? Probably. The trade in value is so poor on these anymore that I may still come out ahead vs trading up for another D5 or Defender.

Terrifying amount of interior . Might want to follow your path later on, miss some equipment in my car but need to understand what equipment I need to swap/add and software updates that can be managed yourself and where a dealer is required.

I’m not convinced JLR will support these kind of activities, I had a contact with my local JLR dealer a few days back and asked them to “just”
reset the service light since the service was done at another WS. Initially they refused and then reluctantly agreed to do it if I would pay (200€).

Dream scenario: adaptive cruise control, 360-camera.

Keep us posted on this, would love to be able to add this in conjunction with the lane keep assist.

Lane keep assist works perfectly without adaptive cruise. I use it all the time. I also forgot to mention that swapping the button module is optional. The LKA feature can be enabled/disabled in the driver info display.

Do you mean hill brake assist? That's one feature I thought was standard on all trims.

No, that is different function

AUTO BRAKE HOLD [G3310272]

The auto brake hold function holds the vehicle whenever it is brought to a stop using the brake pedal.
The instrument panel illuminates the brake HOLD lamp when the feature is active.

It was introduced in 2021 Evoque
My thinking is if ACC with Stop&Go can hold the brakes in queue it should be possible to trigger brake hold by user
My wife is used to that system from BMW and she accepts the D5 only if it has this function.
I have 2017 petrol 3.0 SC
