Default Leak

I bought a 2018 Disco last Saturday and it's the first time raining and the roof is leaking near the top of the windshield and the headliner is soaked, would this be covered under my cap warranty? If not how do you fix this?

Welcome to the club. Known issue and covered by your warranty. Call your dealer quickly as there is quite a long wait for the windshield.

You might want to apply some painter's tape to the perimeter of the windshield to prevent water entry until you can get the windshield replaced. Remove it periodically and reapply to prevent it from adhering to the paint too strongly.

If you can, park it on a slope with the nose up the hill. Dealer told me that's what they do to stop the water running in until they can fix it

Seems like the seller must have known. Did you buy from a dealer? I would give them a hard time for not addressing before sale...

If it's raining ant that's all you have, sure, use electrical tape. But I'd remove it in a day or so. Then you may have to use some solvent to remove any leftover adhesive.
Any tape is okay if you remove it right away. You've seen damaged paint when someone breaks a window and tapes it up with duct tape for too long.

That's why I suggested painter's tape - it tends to not leave adhesive residue and not damage your paint. I'd use the brand name stuff, not the Harbor Freight quality.

They make an outdoor, waterproof painters tape. I got some at Home Depot or Lowe's. It's a little more pliable as it's made of plastic not paper and has stronger adhesive that won't mar the paint if you follow the directions on how long you can keep it on a surface.
