leaking windscreen and no replacement parts available?
Our 2019 D5 HSE LUX has the leaking windscreen problem. When it's not raining, there's a high-pitched screech at 72mph as air comes in around the windscreen. When raining, water comes in, soaking the headliner, A-pillar, and the top glove compartment, as well as dripping on the passenger. Several systems are now offline (e.g. the stereo cannot play sound anymore).
The dealer ordered a replacement windscreen and gave us the car back as "drivable." It's been two months and the dealer still doesn't have the part, despite repeated follow-up.
We just asked JLR what the deal is and when can we expect it fixed. They seemed to indicate that the only path forward is a buyback.
Does anyone know what's going on with the lack of availability of windscreens? Are they 100% defective and even a replacement might leak? If they have a fixed part, what the availability problem is? Has anyone else gotten to this point of discussing buyback?

Thought it's the way they are installed, not the glass itself. Looks like they are in stock. Call another LR dealer and ask if they can get you one. (Don't order it - just check). It sounds like something else going on
Talk to the manager at the dealer. You don't buy back a car over a replacement windscreen...

My new 2019 Discovery with 98 miles I bought for my wife for Christmas has a leak with water everywhere. When I dropped it off it had a small leak through the A pillar vent. Today the dealer said they resealed it but have to dry it out because water is dripping from the headliner and it is wet everywhere. They said they need to install a new windshield but wont have a new windshield for a month or two. After 78 miles the water pump for the supercharger started leaking leaving a puddle in the garage. So in general "you have got to be kidding me" this is my 5th new Land Rover product since 2003 and i have never had quality issues like these. I sent a note to corporate but expect nothing. I wish i could get my cash back on this one.
Yup.
2018 here with a leaking windshield. We’ve been waiting for a windshield for 3 weeks now.
car has a great mildew smell now as well.
dealer did a “tape job” saying there wouldn’t be anymore leaking...
still leaks. Still waiting for a replacement windshield.

My service manager told me that the complaints about whistling noise is not due to windshield side trim pieces, but is indicitive of improper seal between glass and body.
So if you have this noise, but no water leaks, you might still need the new windshield.

Our 2018 was at the dealer for hood latch replacements due to the hood not opening, and the dealer discovered the windshield leaking. We just had our windshield replaced for leaking about 9 months ago. So this will be the third windshield. The Seattle dealer told us that the windshields are on national backorder and they don't have an estimated date yet for availability. They said they have had 2 other Discoveries that have been there since November and December waiting on windshields.
