So this happened. Both parties weren't injured. But the Disco took a good hit. The airbags deployed, 5 of 7 seatbelts locked, doors are trashed, slight bend in the B pillar between the doors, a bent rocker panel in the rear passenger, and bent rear passenger rear axle. Not sure what other supplemental damage I can't see.
I'm still waiting to get the results from the appraiser's findings. He seemed optimistic it can get fixed since it's an expensive vehicle, but everyone who's had similar experience says it's a total loss.
Ouch!
I wouldn’t be too optimistic if the B pillar got damaged, but guess you will find out soon.
The D5 seem pretty expensive to repair from other experiences I have read.
If everyone is ok then it did its job.
It’s just metal and can be replaced.
I also suspect it’s totaled given the b pillar damage and the fact it’s an expensive to repair aluminum vehicle...
It does look like the airbag curtains did their job and thankfully the impact was low on the Disco. Just as a point of reference, my sl550 with a similar market value was totaled with this damage to the B pillar.
