Default Noise question

When we pull the D5 into the garage and turn of the truck there is a pump like noise under the hood. This continues for about a minute and a half. Then there are some clicking sounds and then it stops and is quiet.

Dealer says it is normal. Does anyone else have this noise? Normal?

Any insight is appreciated.

Do you have an air suspension? My LR3 used to have air pump noises after we shut it off as it leveled itself out and charged its system up from being unloaded. They didn’t come from under the hood though. The Discovery V that I currently have also has pump noises but not loud enough to be remarkable.

Yes it has the air suspension. Why would it run for 1.5 minutes?

I don’t know if I can answer that... I’m a banker, not an engineer. That said, I was told by a technician that the vehicle keeps the air system charged and that the pump running at shutdown is how it does it. There’s probably some truth to that because only one time did I see our old LR3 down on the bump stops and that was when we parked it overnight after the pump went down.

Maybe be someone else here can give other ideas...

Now we have a "Suspension Fault Max Speed 30 MPH". Wonder if it is related to the pump noise.

I didn't pay a lot of money for a 30 MPH SUV
