Unless I misunderstand the vehicle model, that transmission is a ZF transmission.
The oil service for that ZF does not include any sucking out of transmission fluid.
And it does require monitoring the transmission temperature to be sure it is in a specific range when checking the fill level.
Specific instructions are included in this forum. Look for transmission fluid change.
Usually, this service includes replacing the transmission filter. The filter is included and pre installed within a new transmission pan.
The kit includes new fasteners also. And the replacement fluid should be ZF fluid for your specific transmission.

Gentlemen, I really don't want to be stubborn. I have never done it differently with my Disco3 and RR4.2SC. I completely agree with you. However, I came across this in the WM for a 2018 Disco5 3.0 petrol. Sooooo strange, could it just be a mistake in the WM?
