Payload capacity
Is it just me or is the payload capacity super high on the disco because if I'm doing the math properly
it'd be
6,724 - 4900 = 2,089lbs which is super high in my opinion am I calculating wrong

D5 3.0 Petrol
Curb 5,160 lbs
Gross 7,075 lbs
This translates to a load carrying ability of 1915 lbs. That may sounds like a lot but remember this is a seven passenger SUV. The average American male is about 190 lbs but let's round to 200 pounds for clothing, personal items and easier math. That's 1400 pounds right there. Then assume a situation where you put 150 pounds in the boot/trunk and 150 pounds on the roof. Now you're up to 1700 pounds.
The capacity reflects the potential situations the vehicle might face.
Hope this helps.
The D5 payload is really quite good. As a long timer RVer if you're at all worried, go to a scale when not busy and measure it all out. The problem with most RVs is the cargo hold & propane tanks put their weight almost directly onto TV tongue rather than the usual 12.5% to 15% transfer rate. Our process was nothing but passengers in the TV, everything else in the middle of the RV, empty freshwater & holding tanks.
