Our golden never liked ramps after one slid and fell as he tried to climb it. Which meant with the D5 I pretty much had to pick him up to get in and out. Causing some challenges when my wife wanted to take him somewhere. The cargo height is pretty high on the D5, and he is getting a bit older making it a bad idea to try and jump in and out.
Got these steps from petloader.com that works a treat. Easier to setup than the ramp and way more stable, and easier for the dog to get it and out. It has nice carpet steps for good traction. Had to get the 5 step model for the D5, which is a bit bigger and heavier (approx 30lbs). At least they collapse in a large block form, which is easy to put in the back with the dog.
